End of Factchecking and Local Shows with Global
Paul Robinson, Alex Hudson & John Dryden join Matt Deegan
We kick of a new year with a new episode of The Media Club, it’s great to be back!
Tech bro, ring-kissers are out in force, genuflecting themselves and their services in the court of King Don. Alex Hudson joins us to talk fact checking in the light of Meta’s policy shifts.
Media consultant Paul Robinson looks at Global’s decision to remove much of its local programming and Bauer’s acquisition of Clear Channel’s European outdoor ad business plus why are the streamers getting into sport all of a sudden? Though since we publish the Venue joint-venture seems to have fallen apart.
Then joining us on the show is John Dryden, Director at Goldhawk Productions who talks about the evolution of drama audio, their relationship with PodX and how they’re working on a new series that will fit into Marvel’s MCU.

I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a content frenzy this week. As well as the show, do check out my four-part series about video and podcasting. It’s over on my Substack. Have a great weekend!
Matt.
